New and FREE fundraising help for small animal rescue shelters. Help offered by Fund My Shelter with the backing of My Pet Matters.
How it works
1. Each shelter’s Fund My Shelter page entry will have details of their work, location and a donate button so readers can donate to the shelter of their choice. Entry will be free for ever.
2. Shelters will be invited to tell their story and raise funds on Enthuse and Crowdfunder, the leading fundraising platforms for local, community fundraising. Shelters will be offered the opportunity to
create and run events and other community fundraising initiatives, see campaign progress and process and receive funds without the need to hire staff, consultants or freelance fundraisers. Fund My Shelter is sponsoring this support and will provide it free of charge until sufficient funds are being raised for shelters to be able to cover the cost themselves.
3. My Pet Matters will offer discounts on its pet products to purchasers at a good discount, with this discount being passed over to shelters nominated by purchasers.
4. “No win-no fee” marketing and fundraising. Fund My Shelter will offer members the opportunity to benefit from a “no win-no fee” marketing and fundraising programme that will help to increase the funds they raise. These programmes will include direct mail, digital fundraising and online prize draws operated by Crowdfunder. These programmes are all operated on a “no win-no fee” basis, meaning that members will never have to invest their own funds in them. All costs incurred by Fund My Shelter will be met from donations raised, with the surplus going directly to members.
5. Free online shop. In due course shelters which are members of Fund My Shelter will be able to raise funds by selling pet products to their own social media connections and supporters via e-commerce pages provided and managed by My Pet Matters.
We are looking for shelters across all the UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Fund My Shelter already has three members: Equine Half Way House, based in Kent and Turkish Tails Animal Rescue, based in Birmingham and NI Exotic Sanctuary. Equine Half Way House has already successfully raised funds through their page on Enthuse, a leading fundraising platform for community fundraising initiatives.
We and our collaborating partners believe that this initiative will be of real help to small animal rescue shelters at a time of great need.
