Even namesake rapper Snoop Dogg offered to rehome the pooch - who was found suffering from severe separation anxiety after heartbreaking footage of his abandonment went viral.
The Mirror reports that Snoop the Staffie who went viral after he was dumped at the side of the road in sickening CCTV footage has finally found his forever home. Millions of people from around the world watched the heartbreaking footage as Snoop was abandoned on the streets of Stoke-on-Trent shortly before Christmas. The pooch was seen chasing his former owner's car as they pulled off into the distance leaving him with just his bed. Celebrities including namesake rapper Snoop Dogg offered to rehome the Staffie but the RSPCA said the pooch was suffering from separation anxiety after being left in the street. The RSPCA has now revealed Snoop has found a loving new home in rural Herefordshire with Laurence Squire, StokeonTrentLive reports. Laurence said: "He is a fantastic dog and he settled in straightaway. As soon as he came into the house for the first time, he jumped on the sofa and it was as though he decided that was the space for him. "He loves being warm and if he can find his way into a bedroom, you’ll find him under the duvet with his head on the pillow." With Laurence working from home, Snoop is now free to roam around a large garden area and the surrounding fields. He has also become a regular in the village pub. RSPCA spokeswoman Rachel Butler has revealed Snoop is loving his new life having battled with separation anxiety after being abandoned. She said: "When I visited Snoop in his new home, I could tell straight away that he was in the right place - he and Laurence already have a strong bond and Snoop absolutely dotes on him." She continued: "In the days after his abandonment, Snoop was incredibly nervous and anxious, which is no surprise after what happened to him. But staff at Gonsal Farm worked really hard in building up his confidence and it really paid off. "The change in Snoop is massive and we at the RSPCA are so incredibly proud of him. "His story put into the spotlight the very sad reality of abandonments, something which the RSPCA deals with every day. He was dumped at Christmas, a time of year which we spend with our loved ones, so for something so unloving to happen to him was heartbreaking. "But the love and attention he is getting now from Laurence is wonderful. Snoop is living like a king." The video, released on Christmas Eve, shows the Staffordshire Bull Terrier led out of a car at the side of the road. The footage then shows the man then running back to the car, which drives away, while the canine repeatedly jumps up at the vehicle's window in distress. After the incident Snoop was taken to the RSPCA in Shropshire to be looked after. The investigation into Snoop’s abandonment is ongoing.
