The homeless hound rejected by 12,000 people.
Jenas just needs “that special someone to give him a chance to have the wonderful life he deserves”.
The Mirror reports that this lovable Lurcher has been snubbed by more than 12,000 visitors. Jenas arrived at a dog rehoming centre on April 27, 2015 but despite thousands of people coming through the door he’s still there. Now staff at the Denton Rehoming Centre in Manchester are hoping someone soon decides he’s their dream four-legged friend.
Canine Carer Katy Errock told the MEN: “He was a stray so we have no idea what he has been through, but he definitely hasn’t had the best start in life.
“At first all he was interested in was food, which of course hadn’t been in plentiful supply as a stray. “He didn’t know how to play and toys were of no interest to him. But he couldn’t be more different now. “He particularly loves a game of fetch and he’ll just drop the toy gently into your hand.”
Jenas loves heading out for a good walk, meeting other dogs, having his back scratched and learning new tricks.
Katy added: “People think Lurchers need lots of exercise and Jenas is young so he likes being active, but he is great on the lead and likes a cuddle and relaxing on a comfy bed too.” “He is really sweet but he can be nervous around people he doesn’t know, so we suspect he may have had a few unfortunate encounters as a stray,” she continued.
“Consequently, when people come to the centre they don’t see the best of him, which we do, and that’s probably why he hasn’t found his forever home yet.
“He is learning to trust again and we just need that special someone to give him a chance to have the wonderful life he deserves.”
Jenas needs owners who are happy to take their time building a bond with him. He will suit a quiet adult only home with a big garden and can live with another dog provided they meet first.
If you’re able to give Jenas a home, please call 0300 303 0292 or visit the centre on Parkway, Denton, Manchester, M34 3SG.
